The Chamber and our Greater Omaha Economic Development Partnership are cheering another clear sign of economic momentum in our community.
R&R Realty Group (R&R) cut the ribbon this week on its first building in the Omaha area – a 250,000 sq. ft. speculative warehouse at the intersection of Gold Coast Road and Highway 50 in Sarpy County. The warehouse is the largest of its kind in the area and the first of four buildings planned for a new R&R Commerce Park, an 80-acre site that will eventually house more than 1,000,000 sq. ft. of total building space.
“This building is the beginning of a new chapter for both R&R as a company and Omaha as a community,” says Mike Homa, President of R&R Realty’s Nebraska division. “Since construction began, we have received several inquiries from users new to Omaha, which will benefit our local economy.”
The Sarpy County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC) worked closely with R&R to facilitate its entry into the Greater Omaha market. SCEDC Executive Director Andrew Rainbolt helped bring the property owner and R&R together.
“I had been working with R&R’s real estate broker in search of just this kind of property. I knew this would be a good fit for them, and I simply made the connection,” he says.
Homa says R&R plans to a long-term investor in the Omaha market and “this building is the first step of that journey.”
Founded in 1985, family-owned R&R is one of the largest commercial real estate companies in the Midwest.
