Mornings have a new voice in midtown Omaha, but that new voice is familiar to many ears around the metro. Dave Wingert, lovingly known to his friends and fans as Wingy, took over the morning show on Boomer 1490 AM on Monday, February 15th. This marked his real return to morning radio after a short absence on the air waves. Wingert had previously been hosting Saturdays on Boomer and loved the experience.

“Truth be told, I haven’t been on morning radio in about a year and a half,” admitted Wingert, “so it’s going to take my Baby Boomer Body just a little bit to adjust to a 4am alarm. But that’s a small price to pay. If you know me at all, you know how enormously I enjoy playfully sharing stories, interviews, comedy, observations and of course, PILES of 45’s!”

Wingert went on to explain why he chose Boomer 1490 when he was looking for a new radio morning show to join. Unsurprisingly, it had everything to do with the music. “Fun, sing-along, Baby Boomer hits that no other radio station would play – that’s what we’ve got on Boomer.” Boomer 1490 has always had the music you love, and we’re happy to add Wingy’s charm to your mornings. Tune in to our morning show from 6A to 9A. You can listen online at www.boomer1490.com
