Visiting Nurse Association’s Art & Soup features some of the most delicious soups, breads and desserts served by the best area chefs and restaurants. There is also an opportunity to view and purchase items from local artists, who donate at least 50 percent of their sales to VNA. More than 80 artists and restaurants are expected to participate this year.

This signature event enables VNA to provide nursing services in all homeless and domestic violence shelters in Omaha and Council Bluffs, as well as to youth living on the streets, through its shelter nursing program. In 2013, VNA shelter nurses provided 8,101 face-to-face visits to 204 children, 79 teens and young adults, and 1,910 adult women and men. In 2014, Art & Soup revenue totaled $241,578.

“Our goal is to raise $260,000 to meet the health needs of nearly 2,500 of the most at-risk in our communities,” said Caryn Hohnholt, VNA’s vice president of fund development.

The event will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at the Embassy Suites – La Vista Hotel and Conference Center. Advance Art & Soup tickets are now available for $50 online at www.theVNAcares.org or by calling 402-930-4170. Tickets will be $55 at the door. Those attending the Patron Party, honoring co-chairs Dixon, Parker and Scott, will have first access to the Art & Soup event, and be first to taste the delicious soups and specialty treats while previewing the silent auction, as well as receive first access to original artwork on sale from some of the area’s most sought after artists. Patron Party exclusive access is from 1 to 2 p.m. for $100, which includes entry to Art & Soup through 5 p.m.
