Another local star is set to shine at Midtown Crossing. Omaha-based Thirst-Tea Café opens for business at 11:00 a.m. today – and celebrates its formal grand opening at 4:00 p.m. with a ribbon cutting and traditional lion dancing ceremony.

“After months of planning and preparation, we are thrilled that opening day has finally arrived. We are very excited to see the reactions of our guests embracing our special flavors of teas and snacks,” said owner Tommy Pang.

Located at 200 South 31st Ave., Suite 4105, Thirst-Tea Café specializes in boba teas, appetizers and smoothies served in a laid back atmosphere. (Boba tea is a Taiwanese-style, tea-based beverage mixed with fruits, syrups or milk, topped with aloe, jellies, flavored boba and other options.)

Pang said the Café’s milky drinks are also destined to gain a following, “especially the taro milky, which has a smooth-and-creamy sweet taste as well as our slightly bitter yet lightly sweetened match a green tea milky.”

Midtown Crossing’s Thirst-Tea Café is the first and only location in Omaha.

“We love tea,” said Pang, “and we look forward to sharing that passion with everyone.”
