The Genius of Warren Buffett: The Science of Investing and the Art of Managing is an Executive MBA course that examines the investment principles of the Oracle of Omaha, Warren Buffett. In addition to discussing Buffett’s financial strategies, the 36-hour course also explores Buffett’s life, management philosophies, philanthropy and corporate governance.

Offered exclusively at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, worldwide renowned lecturer Robert P. Miles instructs the course at Mammel Hall over three sessions during the fall semester. After years of researching Buffett’s methods extensively and having the opportunity to get to know Buffett on a personal level, Miles is the author of three books on the wealth-building strategist.

Open to students from a diverse background of academic disciplines, ages and work experiences, the Genius of Warren Buffett Executive MBA course has become a global phenomenon. Previous participants have traveled from six continents and more than 25 countries to be apart of this one-of-a-kind course.

Throughout the course, Miles will analyze and discuss methods Buffett himself uses to value stocks and businesses. Participants can apply these methods to their own investment strategies. Lifelong learners enrolled in the class will have the opportunity to compete in an Investment Challenge Contest where they will select and present a stock. Previous winners have been promoted to lead Berkshire subsidiaries and appointed board members of nonprofit organizations.

Within the two days in the classroom, Miles invites as many as six distinguished guest lecturers to present to participants. Past special guests have included additional Buffett authors, investment managers, Berkshire managers, corporate board members, business journalists and a Buffett family philanthropist. These innovative professionals talk candidly about their businesses, brand building and best management and leadership practices.
