StrategicHealthSolutions, LLC (Strategic), is pleased to announce the hiring of a new president, John Dyer, and the promotion of Pete Thompson to chief revenue officer.

Dyer became president of the company and vice chairman of the board of Strategic on January 2, 2015.  As president, Dyer will be working closely with Peg Stessman, the CEO and chairman of the board to develop the company’s strategic growth plans and expand its business development reach.  Dyer is responsible for the overall day to day operations of the company delivering services to its federal and state clients, budgeting and finance, contract and projects oversight, information technology, quality and compliance, legal, and human resources.

“I am blessed to have the opportunity to be part of such a fast growing and innovative company with such a talented workforce,” said Dyer. “Peg Stessman is considered to be one of the foremost national experts in how best to prevent health care fraud and waste so with her overall leadership of Strategic and my knowledge of the federal – state market place, we can take Strategic to new heights.”

Dyer has a wealth of experience in federal government and private industry. In the federal government, he served as chief operating officer of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and the Social Security Administration (SSA). In private industry he was vice president of the health sector of SAIC, senior consultant and director of strategic planning for the federal health unit of CSC, and advised several health care related information technology and management consulting companies.

Dyer is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., and has a master’s degree in public health from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Thompson has been promoted to chief revenue officer from his previous role as chief operating officer. Thompson has worked for Strategic since December 2007. As CRO, Thompson is building Strategic’s presence in the health care industry through multifaceted growth strategies including contract acquirement, identification of process efficiencies, expansion of service offerings, and implementation of possible mergers and acquisitions. He also serves as a technical advisor on several contracts for Strategic.  

“I am excited for my new role here at Strategic,” said Thompson. “My years spent here have enabled me to do amazing work to protect the quality of health care and prevent fraud and waste. I’m looking forward to continuing that important work within my new position.”  

Thompson earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors and distinction in psychology from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, and a master of science in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of Nebraska in Omaha.
