Skinny Bones Pumpkin Patch in Blair, Neb., is celebrating the season – and the region – with a host of unique, new features, including a “We Don’t Coast” shout-out that’s all ears.

The popular attraction, located at 3935 Highway 133, began its fall run on Sept. 11. It will remain open through Halloween on Oct. 31. Known for its 10-acre corn maze, Skinny Bones added an element of regional pride this year by incorporating Greater Omaha’s “We Don’t Coast” tagline into the design. Be warned – the “We Don’t Coast” maze is especially challenging, even for owner Maria Bledsoe.

“If you’re going to send a message that ‘We Don’t Coast,” you have to make people work for the honor of saying they made it through,” says Bledsoe. “We love hearing the laughter and the excitement – and we’re thrilled we could use the maze this year to show our true pride in this great region.”

“We Don’t Coast’ is the community’s brand, and it truly ‘lives’ when businesses and individuals make it their own, using it in fun and creative ways to elevate their organizations and our entire region,” says Kim Sellmeyer, creative director, Greater Omaha Chamber.

The “We Don’t Coast” corn maze is entirely organic. The Bledsoes say they use twice the amount of seed as other mazes and plant in two directions for thicker maze “walls.” A less challenging “Pee-Wee maze” is available for the younger set.

Skinny Bones is open Monday – Thursday from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Friday and Saturday from
10 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Fridays from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. are “Flashlight Nights” at the corn maze. (Bring your own flashlight or buy one on-site.) Saturdays from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. are “Haunted Nights,” featuring live scarers roaming the maze. (No flashlights allowed.)

Also this year, Skinny Bones added a giant, new “jump pillow” for guests. It complements traditional favorites, including hayrack rides to the pumpkin patch, the pedal carts racetrack, bonfires and face painting.
