Omaha Performing Arts’ activities have had a $39.54 million economic impact on Douglas County, according to an updated study conducted for the non-profit performing arts organization. Results of the study were presented today by Joan Squires, president of Omaha Performing Arts, at the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors’ meeting.
· Omaha Performing Arts had a $39.54 million economic impact on Douglas County, a 14% increase from the $34.70 million impact in 2011;

· The 2014 labor impact was $13.76 million for labor by 507 workers for a 36% and 16% increase respectively, compared to $10.11 million and 438 workers in 2011;

· 49% of patrons were from outside Douglas County, of which 18% were outside the state of Nebraska representing a 2% increase from 2011;

· The tax revenue impact is $1.6 million in total tax revenues – $450,000 to the city of Omaha and $1.15 million to the state of Nebraska in 2014;

· In the past seven years, 2.3 million people have attended events in both the Holland Performing Arts Center and the Orpheum Theater;

· During that same time, 190,000 students have participated in Omaha Performing Arts education and community engagement events.
