NFC’s next monthly community partner meeting is Tuesday, February 25, 2014 from 8:30 to 10:00am at the DC Centre.

The featured speaker of this meeting is Dr. Jonathan Benjamin-Alvarado, Professor of Political Science at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Dr. Benjamin-Alvarado will present on Public Policy Considerations in the Latino Community.

Dr. Benjamin-Alvarado will talk about what he sees as future trends affecting Latino in our community. He is an advocate for public and community engagement. Dr. Benjamin-Alvarado is part of a coalition of UNO Latino professors who are promoting progressive issues and ideas about understanding the community. Dr. Benjamin-Alvarado will provide information to help make sense of the social landscape affecting many families in the community. He has published many academic articles and has traveled extensively in other countries doing research. Dr. Benjamin-Alvarado will outline the trends and issues and then will be open to questions from the participants at the meeting.

The meeting will begin at 8:30am. Prior to the meeting, light refreshments and social time will be available from 8:00 to 8:30am.
