Omaha mayor Jean Stothert will join Nebraska Wesleyan University President Fred Ohles  and other special guests on Tuesday, August 12 to cut the ribbon to the school’s new Omaha location.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony begins at 5 p.m. at 14010 FNB Parkway in the First National Bank building near 140th Street and West Dodge Road.

In June, Nebraska Wesleyan relocated its Omaha satellite site near 118th and M streets to its new location. The new location provides more space to NWU’s growing programs for nontraditional students as well as other benefits including parking, study space, event space, and easier access to more food choices and other amenities for its students.

In 2004 Nebraska Wesleyan opened its Omaha site with 4,500 square feet of space. Eight students enrolled in three available academic programs. Today, the new space provides 12,000 square feet to over 200 students enrolled in six bachelor’s degree programs and four master’s degree programs including the new MBA program.

The new location provides the flexibility for growth in academic programs.  The university also plans to use the new space for traditional undergraduate enrollment activities and alumni events.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on the seventh floor. A reception will follow.
