Description
The Technical Consultant position is a field engineering position in the company. This position is responsible for implementing the IP Pathways’ technical product set and for providing technical expertise to the customer base. As a consultant, this position must also provide a high-level of professionalism and must process excellent soft skills in addition to technical skills. Beyond field implementations, this position is an escalation resource for the Support Engineering team and assists in providing customer support.
Common Responsibilities for this position include:
- Always work to maintain a high-level of customer satisfaction
- Always strive for continual improvement in everything we do
- Field implementations of the company’s technical product set
- Provide technical support to customers as escalated by the Support Engineers
- Includes participating in an on-call rotation
- Provide technical assistance and mentoring for Support Engineers
- Provide in-house peer training of product sets
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements for this position include:
- At least 5 – 7 years of experience implementing and supporting network
- Experience with the following technologies as assigned
- Switches and routers
- Firewalls and other network security devices
- Wireless networks
- VPN (IPSec, SSL, etc)
- Load-balancing & application acceleration
- Specifically, strong experience with Cisco network equipment
- Catalyst & Nexus switching, routers, and ASA Firewalls
- CCNP or equivalent experience or higher
- High-level knowledge of Windows operating systems
- High-level knowledge of VMware vSphere
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent ability to multitask and maintain high-levels of quality
- Must be able to work as a valued member in a team environment
Physical Requirements for this position include:
- Ability to rack servers, switches and other datacenter equipment
Locations
IP Pathways has locations in Des Moines, Omaha and Kansas City. We are in search of candidates in Des Moines and Omaha.
