Discover Omaha, the premier locally-owned provider of culinary and cocktail tours in Omaha, has finalized the acquisition of Nebraska Tour Company. This combination of brands offers Nebraska more tour options than any other company.
Nebraska Tour Company will continue to operate as a division of Discover Omaha with a focus on history tours including district walking tours and citywide chauffeured tours. They offer specialty tours such as the Mob Tour, Haunted Tour, Baseball History Tour and Prohibition Tour. As a part of the acquisition, the number of tours offered by Nebraska Tour Company was expanded, covering a total of 19 different options.
Alan Rust, President of Discover Omaha, said “Our mission is to get residents and visitors alike to support local, eat local, and drink local. With the addition of our Nebraska Tour Company offerings, we can now take that to a new level by helping to tell the story of the city that we love. Our guides are local history experts as well as entertaining hosts. Our guests are sure to leave with a much better appreciation about what makes Omaha unique and how we came to be the city that we are.”
“One thing that I am especially proud of is the diverse range of tours that we have available,” said Dakotah Smith, Vice President of Discover Omaha. “We’ve seen competitors provide tours of the Old Market in the past, but so much of our amazing history is in North Omaha & South Omaha, and so it was important to us to be able to highlight that as well, and the guides do a great job of really bringing it to life.”
Discover Omaha’s commitment to fostering the local small business community can also be seen in their partnership to launch The Omaha Market, the new artisan shop in located in Hollywood Candy in the Old Market. Discover Omaha also features local businesses, entrepreneurs, and change-makers on their Blog.
