The 2014 Completely KIDS Author Luncheon, sponsored by the Completely KIDS Guild, will feature Rosalind Wiseman, an internationally recognized expert on children, teens, parenting, bullying, social justice and ethical leadership. She works with students, educators, parents, counselors, coaches, and administrators to create communities based on the belief that each person has a responsibility to treat themselves and others with dignity.
Wiseman is a New York Times best-selling author most famously known for her book, Queen Bees and Wannabes: Helping Your Daughter Survive Cliques, Gossip, Boyfriends, and the New Realities of Girl World, which was the basis for the movie Mean Girls. Her latest book, Masterminds and Wingmen: Helping Our Boys Cope with Schoolyard Power, Locker-Room Tests, Girlfriends, and the New Rules of Boy World, focuses on the feelings and struggles of boys, who are less likely to seek help. Proceeds benefit Omaha nonprofit Completely KIDS, which addresses intergenerational poverty, and assists children and families in gaining the knowledge, skills, and support that will empower them to overcome barriers to their success.
