For a second year in a row, Omaha’s Lauritzen Gardens has turned artistry and imagination into the public’s favorite Miracle at Midtown holiday window display.
The Garden’s “Building Holiday Traditions: Past, Present and Future” display garnered the most votes from Miracle at Midtown visitors. Elaborate and playful, the scene featured a friendly snowman and an icy polar vortex swirling to the “future of the garden,” the new Marjorie K. Daugherty Conservatory.

As the 2014 public vote winner, the non-profit earns a $2,000 donation courtesy of the Baer Foundation, a philanthropic endeavor that generously supports various charities, including Nebraska arts and educational agencies.

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium and Ballet Nebraska, the second and third highest vote getters, will receive $1,000 and $500 donations, respectively, from the Baer Foundation as well.

The Durham Museum, Joslyn Castle Trust, Love’s Jazz and Arts Center, Omaha Community Playhouse, Omaha Jitterbugs, SNAP Productions and KETV (Media Sponsor), also crafted window displays for Miracle at Midtown, which ran from November 22, 2014 and January 1, 2015.
“We love how all of the organizations embraced our ‘Holidays Past, Present and Future” theme to not only tell their stories but to collectively make Miracle at Midtown such a special holiday happening for our guests,” said Molly Skold, Midtown Crossing’s vice president of marketing and communications. “Our congratulations to Lauritzen Gardens on its repeat win and our thanks to the Baer Foundation for so generously supporting Omaha’s cultural community.”
