HRAM March Program & Member Orientation

Tuesday, March 8, 2016
10:30am – 2:30pm
Scott Conference Center, 6450 Pine Street, Omaha

Steve Bogue, McGrath North will be speaking on “Politics in the Workplace – HR Guide to Upcoming Election Season.”

Because our country is in the midst of a heated presidential campaign season, political discussions and strong opinions can arise in THE workplace.  Political dialogue in the workplace may cause potential liability for employers. Conversations may often focus on sex or religion and may cause potential grounds for harassment, race, religion, age and/or gender among other forms of discrimination, including retaliation or other types of workplace complaints. As the political season heats up this year, learn how to handle political activity by employees both on and off the job, AND in social media. Ruth Horvatich will follow Steve’s presentation and discuss how Social Media plays a significant role in the political elections and has become an increasing presence in employees’ day-to-day lives.

This Session has been pre-approved for 2.0 hours of HR CREDIT from the HR Certification Institute & 2.0 hours of SHRM-CP CREDIT from SHRM’s NEW Professional Development Certification.
