Topic:  “Fair Labor Standards Act”

This presentation will discuss basic provisions of the FLSA including employment relationship, coverage, minimum wage, overtime, child labor, recordkeeping, and select exemptions.  Will also discuss the investigative process and what employers can expect from a Wage and Hour Investigation and common errors disclosed in investigations.

Investigator Meghan Vesper has worked with the Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division since 2010.  WHI Vesper conducts investigations under various Federal Labor Laws enforced by Wage and Hour such as the Fair Labor Standards Act, Family Medical Leave Act, laws relating to Government Contract, Migrant and Seasonal Worker Protection Act, OSHA Field Sanitation Act, and various part of the Immigration and Nationality Act that relates to the temporary employment of non-immigrant workers.
