National Geographic Society Explorer and Berkeley Professor Dr. Tyrone Hayes will be presenting his groundbreaking findings on water contaminants. Through years of extensive research, Hayes discovered profoundly adverse effects on the herbicide atrazine, widely used in agricultural production. Based on Hayes’ findings and expertise, he is considered one of the most prominent public proponents for critical review and regulation of pesticides, along with other chemicals that may cause adverse health effects.
