Ignatian volunteers share one thing in common; gratitude.  And, gratitude is what calls them into service.  Ignatian volunteers are retired men and women who share their time and life skills with those in need.  Their focus on the poor and disenfranchised, provides help and guidance . Whether it is teaching someone to read, find a job or building a home.  These wonderful volunteers see God in all things, and this vision is carried forth in their work; a cornerstone of Ignatian Spirituality.

Father Greg Carlson, SJ, shared: “The Ignatian Volunteer Corps is the fastest growing part of the Ignatian Family in Omaha. People not only get the value of serving others, but they get some structure in their retired life, find a community, stimulus and spiritual growth from being with others.  It’s a win-win situation, and I am delighted to be part of it!”

“New members are needed all the time,” advises Becky Ehrman, Director of IVC.  “If you are over the age of 50, have between eight and 15 hours of time to share each week, if you are grateful, if you enjoy kinship of likeminded people, and you believe Christ’s mission of compassion, come join the IVC!
