With an eye on growth and enhanced patient service, Dr. Shannon Elwood is set to shift total focus to Midtown Crossing’s Definitive Vision, the full-service eye care center he launched three years ago.

“Definitive Vision is growing nicely, which, I think, speaks to the personalized service we offer. But if it’s going to continue to grow, I need to be there more,” he said.

Consequently, at the end of the month, Dr. Elwood said he will no longer be splitting time between Definitive Vision and Target Optical in northwest Omaha, an office he has been associated with since 2003.

“It became hard to split time knowing that both offices probably needed more from me as far as doctor appointments available,” he explained.

A practicing optometrist for over 10 years, Dr. Elwood specializes in family, preventative eye care. His last day with Target is May 31.

“I would like to thank my current Target patients for trusting me with their eyes all these years and encourage them to come try my Midtown Crossing office. It’s especially convenient for those who already work downtown,” he said.

Definitive Vision’s goal is to utilize the latest in eye examination techniques, technology and equipment, as well as offer the latest trends and fashions in prescription eyewear. Dr. Elwood opened Definitive Vision in midtown and Midtown Crossing because he felt the area was under-served for eye care.

“I’ve really enjoyed the clientele there and look forward to the new opportunities to continue their continuity of care in Midtown Crossing.”

Located at 3157 Farnam St., Definitive Vision accepts most insurance plans, including VSP, United Healthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Medicare.
