Curtis E. LeMay is one of the icons of American military history, first as one of the best navigators in the Army Air Forces (AAF) and then as a brilliant strategist in both the European and the Pacific Theaters of WWII. The building of Strategic Air Command (SAC) into an effective and efficient war fighting arm was LeMay’s greatest accomplishment transforming his command into one of the most effective military units in the world. This display will focus on Gen. LeMay’s tenure as CINCSAC with glimpses into his earlier life and post SAC days.
