Community Development Manager

About us: CCFA is a dynamic organization serving 1.6 million IBD patients in the United States through its research programs and a wide array of patient services. The Foundation has seen 50% revenue growth in the last 5 years and allocates 82 cents of every dollar raised to its mission activities. Position Summary: The Community Development Manager is responsible for the implementation of CCFA’s mission through programs,fundraising events and volunteer development in Omaha, Des Moines, Lincoln and surrounding communities.The Community Development Manager will cultivate partnerships and alliances that will promote growth and awareness within the community.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and monitor an annual budget and work plan, including Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis and special event fundraising, public education programs, support services, and volunteer development
  • Manager will be responsible for raising $165,000 (2016) through strategic planning, volunteer recruitment and management, and creative thinking to execute CCFA’s walk campaign, Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis in the Omaha, Lincoln and Des Moines communities
  • Create and implement strategies to meet fundraising goals through a newly developed special event beginning in 2017
  • Develop a marketing and promotional plan to enhance visibility and increase community awareness and participation in Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis
  • Track income and expenses associated with Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis and special event
  • Recruit volunteer leaders and committee members to assist in implementing the fundraising work plan in Omaha, Lincoln and Des Moines
  • Serve as a consultant and resource to volunteers 
  • Provide professional leadership in planning and implementing their tasks and/or responsibilities
  • Assure appropriate utilization of volunteer skills and resources and provide guidance in carrying out assignments and recognition for their time and effort
  • Maintain accurate and complete records and files for fundraising events, programs and activities and routinely review the status of each with your supervisor

Qualifications Required:

  • BA/BS degree
  • Three to five years in not-for-profit fundraising, sales, and client-facing project management, preferably within a health-related organization.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful fundraising experience that includes special events, donor cultivation and recognition, donor records and acknowledgement.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented leader with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills required; ability to cold call, grow local contacts and build and nurture effective business relationships to increase CCFA’s visibility, brand awareness, volunteers, and revenue.
