January is National Mentoring Month, and for the third year in a row, the Midlands Mentoring Partnership and its 13 member agencies are joining together to recruit more mentors for Omaha area youth. Currently, more than 30,000 youth in Omaha live below the poverty line and would benefit from a mentor, yet only 3,000 of them are currently being served by a mentoring relationship. This recruitment campaign aligns with the efforts of MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership, to increase the number of mentors by showing that anybody can be a listener, guide, and friend to youth in need.

  • Attend a Mentor Training/Orientation Session on January 19 or February 6 to hear more about the many types of mentoring programs and opportunities to get involved. Email info@mmpomaha.org for info and registration.
