Omaha Performing Arts presents the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet in the Slosburg Hall at the Orpheum Theater Thursday, February 19, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $15, and are available at TicketOmaha.com, 402.345.0606 or at the Ticket Omaha Office inside the Holland Center, 1200 Douglas St. Immediately following the performance, audience members are invited to participate in a free post-performance discussion with Aspen Santa Fe Ballet artists.

Aspen Santa Fe Ballet is considered a pioneering and innovative American dance company, blurring the lines between ballet and modern dance. The troupe regularly commissions new works, often by emerging choreographers, giving the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet an open and exploratory style. A highlight of the Omaha engagement will be the performance of the commissioned work “Square None,” by Norbert De La Cruz III. A review by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch described the number: “Set to an eclectic score, with lighting that evoked moods from the eerie to the joyous, ‘Square None’ made imaginative use of the dancers’ athleticism in its pursuit of abstraction. But the piece also yielded moments of grace that suggested that De La Cruz is as much a poet as he is a craftsman…”
