Approach, Nebraska’s first full-service climbing gym, will hold a Ribbon Cutting in partnership with the Greater Omaha Chamber on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 10:00am to kick off the 3-day Grand Opening celebration. Locally owned and family operated, Approach endeavors to create a socially engaging space while facilitating in the development of healthy minds, bodies, and relationships.
A free social gathering will follow from 10:30am – 1:00pm featuring a drum circle, vendor fair, food truck, meet and greet with pro climber Timy Fairfield, and a raffle fundraiser for local non-profits NorthStar Foundation, Girls Inc. and Youth Emergency Services (Y.E.S.). “Investing in the community is one of our core values so we gathered great prizes from our partners and generous local and national businesses to raffle and raise funds for local non-profits we believe are making a real difference for youth in Omaha,” said Sarahjoy Allen, Owner/General Manager at Approach.
During the Grand Opening visitors will enjoy 50% off admission & rental gear, climbing challenges with prizes for all, extended hours, live music, pro climber clinics, food trucks, local craft beer, and a dance party suitable for all ages. Located at 72nd & L St in Omaha, the 12,000-square-foot indoor facility provides climbing for beginners to experts from ages 2 and up. Approach hired top professional climbing wall designers and manufacturers, Futurist and Walltopia, to bring nothing short of the best in the world to Omaha. Amenities include over 6,000 square foot of climbing surface in three separate and distinct areas: top-rope climbing, bouldering, and a dedicated Kids Climbing Room. Climbing is inherently dangerous, so Approach will teach all users to use appropriate gear and techniques to enable smart climbing, explore personal boundaries, encourage communication in corporate team building activities, and provide a new outlet for birthday parties for all ages, special events, and clinics. Earlier in the spring of 2015, Approach raised over $30,000 with 65-Charter Members joining as part of a limited Charter Membership Drive.
