Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is bringing its first, famed Rolling Roadshow to Nebraska for a free, family-friendly, quote-along event on the Werner Park field September 18 with a screening of “Back to the Future.”

This is the first of two Rolling Roadshow events to be held prior to the grand opening of Alamo Drafthouse Omaha, an eight-screen theater, restaurant and taproom. The theater is expected to open in mid to late October.

Alamo Drafthouse is showing “Back to the Future” in celebration of the re-release of the 1985 movie, honoring the movie’s 30th anniversary. Alamo plans to share the movie in the theater’s famous “quote-along” style, where audience members are invited to participate with their favorite quotes. There also will be “Back to the Future”-themed activities, giveaways and more, allowing movie buffs of all ages to enjoy the evening. The movie will be shown on the Rolling Roadshow’s German-engineered 20- by 50-foot screen.

“This is the first of many fun activities Alamo Drafthouse Omaha is bringing to the metropolitan area,” said Derek Dillon, creative manager. “We will have many Alamo Drafthouse staples as well as programming unique to the metro area.”

Alamo Drafthouse Omaha is located at 12750 Westport Parkway in La Vista, Neb. The locally owned and operated franchise will include local brews. Alamo Drafthouse is known for its unique no talking, no texting policy, and as a film preservation advocate, regularly hosting 35 mm movie screenings.

About Alamo Drafthouse
Tim and Karrie League founded Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in 1997 as a single-screen mom and pop repertory theater in Austin. Seventeen years later, the now 20-location chain has been named “the best theater in America” by Entertainment Weekly and “the best theater in the world” by Wired.com. The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema built a reputation as a movie lover’s oasis, combining food and drink service with the movie-going experience, and by introducing unique programming and high profile, star studded special events. Alamo Drafthouse Founder & CEO, Tim League, created Fantastic Fest, a world-renowned film festival dubbed “The Geek Telluride” by Variety. Fantastic Fest showcases eight days of genre cinema from independents, international filmmakers and major Hollywood studios. The Alamo Drafthouse’s collectible art gallery, Mondo, offers breathtaking, original products featuring designs from world-famous artists based on licenses for popular TV and Movie properties including “Star Wars,” “Star Trek” and “Universal Monsters.” The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is expanding its brand in new and exciting ways, including Drafthouse Films garnering two Academy Award nominations in its short three-year existence and Birth.Movies.Death, an entertainment news blog curated by veteran journalist Devin Faraci.
