An Omaha startup, A Place at Home, is proud to announce the opening of a new branch office in Council Bluffs by July 1st, located 2 blocks west of Mall of the Bluffs, 900 Woodbury Avenue. A Place at Home, an in-home care agency, will now be able to serve Omaha, Council Bluffs and surrounding rural areas, extending throughout Harrison, Pottawattamie and Mills Counties, within a 30-mile radius.

A Place at Home plans to bring 50 or more new jobs to the regional area for caregiving as well as a few positions for office staff and nurse advocates. CEO, Dustin Distefano said, “The time has come for us to be a community partner with Council Bluffs. We are growing quickly in the Omaha area, but the need is also there and we are responding to it.”

In 2012, Distefano, Jerod Evanich and Paula Howard co-founded A Place at Home, after researching the market and considering the needed services to the local and regional aging population. Ninety-per-cent (90%) of seniors want to stay in their home as they age, according to AARP. With this goal in mind, A Place at Home began and is now one of the fastest growing certified, in-home care agencies in the area.

Bob Mundt, President of the Council Bluffs Chamber states, “We are pleased to have A Place at Home expanding into Council Bluffs with 50 new jobs and a much needed service in our region. As some of our population ages in the Metro, we need services such as this to allow people to stay in their homes longer and improve the quality of life in our region. We look forward to having them as a member of our corporate community.”

The senior community is the top priority with A Place at Home. But, another priority is serving disabled veterans that require in-home care within this new company footprint. According to va.gov, there are more than 14,000 veterans in the Harrison, Pottawattamie, and Mills county area. “We won’t ignore them. We will offer our services to our disabled vets living at home because of their sacrifice. We are training our caregivers specifically for the special needs within the disabled veteran community,” says Jerod Evanich, President.

A Place at Home will be taking applications immediately. Call 402-932-4646 to apply. To learn more, go to aPlaceAtHome.com.
