Participation in Miracle on Farnam blossoms into a key honor for Omaha’s Lauritzen Gardens, with its Holiday window display voted the public’s favorite for 2013! Titled “A
Victorian Holiday,” the Lauritzen Gardens display paid a carefully-crafted tribute to an era gone by, the Holiday traditions that endure, and its iconic Hitchcock-Kountze Victorian Garden in winter.

Inspired by the Gardens’ vibrant, Victorian-themed holiday poinsettia show, the display collected thousands of votes during the course of Miracle on Farnam – November 23, 2013 to January 1, 2014. As the vote winner, the non-profit Lauritzen Gardens earns a $3,000 donation courtesy of the Baer Foundation, a philanthropic endeavor that generously supports various charities, including Nebraska arts and educational agencies.

In total, Miracle on Farnam showcased 21 dazzling window displays, each one exhibiting the artistry and imagination of Omaha’s most respected arts and cultural organizations.

“We want to thank all of our Miracle on Farnam participants for their care and creativity – and congratulate Lauritzen Gardens for capturing the public’s attention in an especially memorable way,” said Molly Skold, vice president of marketing and communications for East Campus Realty, LLC, the Mutual of Omaha subsidiary that owns Midtown Crossing. “We would also like to thank the Baer Foundation for its wonderful generosity and long-standing support of Omaha’s cultural community.”
