Erin Koesters of Gretna was named Mrs. Nebraska USA Worldwide last month and was crowned locally on December 2, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. in Omaha, Nebraska at Lazlos’ event room. Her daughters, Emily (14) crowned for her courage with Tiara’s of Hope and Taylor-Jo (6) as Mrs. Nebraska’s Sweetheart.
Koesters is a health and wellness business owner, foundation leader, and a former high school teacher of nearly twenty years and now devotes her time to her family. She is also an outspoken advocate for SIOD (Schimke immuno-osseous dysplasia) which is a rare genetic life-limiting disease that her eldest daughter endures. Erin and her husband along with the grandparents have been the sole caregivers and support system for their chronically ill daughter.
During her reign as Mrs. Nebraska USA Worldwide, Koesters will continue her work with the Little Giants Foundation that she and her husband have managed for the past three years. The mission of the Little Giants Foundation is to raise awareness and funding for the research needed to help prolong SIOD children’s lives now and in the future. She works extensively with the newly diagnosed families in the states and around the world as a liaison between families and doctors.
As the new Mrs. Nebraska Worldwide United 2017-2018, Erin and her girls are booking appearances currently and for the next few months into 2018!
