Since 1892, Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska has been there for children and families. What began as orphanages in Fremont and Omaha has become a statewide outpouring of God´s love through dozens of programs, 250 staff members and 1000 volunteers. A returning Business Excellence Award winner, LFS works within three areas of core competency: Children Services, Behavioral Health and Community Services (for foreign-born populations) and manages the largest AmeriCorps program in Nebraska. The organization’s daily commitment to excellence in leadership, finances and ethics are recognized by the Better Business Bureau – both as an accredited member and with the 2013 Integrity Award.

Excellence at LFS has never been about being bigger. It’s always been about being better. From the top down, LFS staff works with an entrenched belief that every child, every family, every person deserves excellent service, delivered with dignity and respect.
PHILANTHROPY
Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska programs insure children caught in neglectful, abusive or violent situations find safety. They restore hope for those struggling with addictions and mental illness, and provide refugees welcome and acculturation on their path to citizenship.
