“I am fortunate to be surrounded by positive people in my life. My family and friends, my co-workers, my fellow President’s Club volunteers, and the Chamber staff inspire me to be great. I have made a lot of great friends and business connections over the past few years that will continue to help me build my network.” – Erik Terkelsen, Chief Sales and Marketing officer, Holidynamics, Inc.; President’s Council co-chair, member of the Chairman’s Circle and Honorary Life Membership Award winner
I owe my brother-in-law Dave Johnson a lot of credit for giving me the nudge. He’s been a President’s Club member for 18 years and recruited me to join in October of 2015.
It wasn’t a tough sell. I saw how much he enjoyed it over the years, and I wanted to be a part of all of the great things that were happening at the Chamber.
I also wanted to network with new and existing businesses and show them all of the benefits the Chamber has to offer – a fabulous way to help Holidynamics and the Chamber at the same time.
When you sign up to be a volunteer, I feel you need to give it 100 percent – something I learned from my dear parents. Be the best that you can be! They inspired me to do just that. I was fortunate to receive the Rookie of the Year* award after only being in the club for 90 days. I made Chairman’s Circle my first year (2016), received the Honorary Life Membership** Award this past spring and have already qualified for the 2017 Chairman’s Circle. (The Chamber continues to add a lot of great programs and benefits for members so it makes my volunteering job relatively easy.)
The Honorary Life Membership Award and other recognitions are great individual honors, but the true satisfaction comes with achieving our goals as a team. My vision is to see PC continue to grow.
We are always looking for passionate people who want to get involved and help Omaha and surrounding areas flourish. If you love sales and you love having fun, President’s Club is the group for you!
Want to learn more about PC, be my guest at one of our future meetings or reach out to our dedicated staff at the Chamber for more details.
* Rookie of the Year honors are given to new Club volunteers who’ve made an important impact.
** The Honorary Life Membership Award is reserved for those who bring in 50 new Chamber members in one 12-month period.
