If you noticed 2017 meant big hype for Blockchain, you’re not alone. Last year’s global buzz sparked rapid innovation and moved Blockchain to the front of boardrooms, innovation labs and investment decks.
Look out: This same momentum is already marking 2018 as the year Blockchain’s revolutionary technology echoes into the real world – real time, with real results.
Blockchain’s ongoing maturation into real-world applications will be reflected at our second annual Blockchain event on Friday, May 4 at the Living Room at Mastercraft, 1111 N 13th St. Appropriately themed, Blockchain: Let’s Get Real, we’re partnering again with our friends at the Global Blockchain Business Council (GBBC) to help spotlight this next generation technology. It’s time to unleash the potential of smart contracts – and we want Greater Omaha to be at the forefront.
If last year’s event with the GBBC was Blockchain 101, expect this year’s course to be less lecture series and more focused on audience participation. We know the community is ready by evidence of The Startup Collaborative’s most recent NEXT Society event. Hundreds of people participated in the innovative speakeasy, experiencing firsthand how to share and send value using decentralized applications and smart contracts. If you didn’t make it, I highly suggest you check out NEXT Society recap by one of Omaha’s rising startup’s BlockEra.
Blockchain: Let’s Get Real will focus on our region’s economic strengths of finance, insurance, logistics and supply chains. As these industries become more efficient with the adaption of Internet of Things (Iot), AI and Blockchain, it’s imperative we pursue opportunities to spark dialogue and facilitate partnerships around emerging technology. This commitment fuels an ongoing attitude of transformational change and our regional efforts to lean forward and proactively champion innovation.
So please, join us and the Global Blockchain Business Council for an afternoon of dynamic conversations and presentations exploring the tangible applications of Blockchain. It’s time to get real and experience this technology as the change agent that lives up to the hype.
Technology that lives up to the hype.
