Whether through economic necessity or personal preference, more area families must rely on resources – outside immediate family – to provide child care. In the Greater Omaha area, you’ll find a wide variety of child care facilities available – from nannies and in-home providers to larger child care centers and facilities, operated locally or as part of a national chain. Just as diverse as the settings are the range of services provided – from basic child care to pre-school activities and meals and snacks.

To help ensure the quality of the child care services available, Nebraska and Iowa have established laws outlining the licensing requirements that caregivers, teachers and facilities must meet. However, these are minimum standards and do not provide any guarantees.
