Development Plan Study Area
The South Omaha Development Project study area includes citywide institutions as well as neighborhood gathering places. Among these are the Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo, Omaha Botanical Center - Lauritzen Gardens, Rosenblatt Stadium, Latino Center of the Midlands, Collin Field, Omaha South High Magnet School, the 24th Street business district, El Museo Latino, several city parks, the South Omaha Business Park, Livestock Exchange and Metropolitan Community College South Campus.
The South Omaha study area is bordered by Harrison Street on the south, the Missouri River on the east. The western boundary varies from Interstate 480 to 42nd Street and the northern boundary varies from Center Street to Interstate 80. The boundaries are very similar to the historical city of South Omaha city limits when it was incorporated into the city of Omaha in 1915.
