New Center to Train Candidates for
Blair Biorefinery Campus and Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Station Jobs

After six years of planning and promoting, Gateway Development Corporation, Metropolitan Community College, Blair industry partners, the city of Blair and Washington County announce an educational program designed to train candidates for Blair biorefinery campus and Fort Calhoun nuclear power station technical jobs. The program will begin in March in what will be known as the Washington County Technology Center.

The Blair program expects to start with 15 students, said Paula Hazlewood, director of Gateway Development Corp., the Washington County arm of the Greater Omaha Economic Development Partnership. Work is under way on converting the downtown former Blair West Pharmacy building into classrooms that will have room for 45 students.
