Partnership Instrumental in I-80 Corridor Redeveloped Shopping Destination Project Toby Churchill, executive director of the Sarpy County Economic Development Corporation, a partner in the Greater Omaha Economic Development Partnership, was contacted in September by Rod Yates, principal, OTB Destination, about a prospective project in Gretna. In addition to providing demographic data, Churchill and the team facilitated meetings between the city of Gretna and the developer and assisted in evaluating the project’s financial and development plans. The project is proposed for the Nebraska Crossing site at the intersection of Interstate 80, Highway 6 and Highway 31 in Gretna. Ongoing involvement will include assisting the community on a special election to allow the incremental sales tax from the project to be a part of the financing for up to 10 years as allowed under Nebraska LB1018. “We fully support this unique new retail opportunity in Sarpy County and look forward to working with all of the partners throughout the process,” said Churchill. |
