Two Tracks Lead to One Great Turn Out at Midwest Franchise Seminar

More than 150 were in attendance at the Midwest Franchise Seminar on Nov. 18, at the University of Nebraska at Omaha's College of Business Administration Mammel Hall. The event was hosted by the Greater Omaha Economic Development Partnership and event partners Cline Williams Wright Johnson & Oldfather, L. L. P., Nebraska Business Development Center, KFAB and the University of Nebraska at Omaha College of Business Administration.

The all-day event offered two tracks of comprehensive breakout sessions: one for potential franchisees, the other for those wishing to franchise their existing business concepts. Willy Theisen, founder of Pitch Coal-Fired Pizzeria and Godfather's Pizza, Inc., spoke during the opening session.

Plus, more than 25 franchisors, brokers and other franchise-related vendors provided exhibits for attendees to gain further insight on franchise-related products and services.

“This was my third year of attending the Midwest Franchise Seminar,” said Jim Sadler, senior general manager of Westroads Mall and chair of the Partnership’s retail target advisory group. “The positive, relaxed atmosphere and free exchange of ideas between industry experts and people brand new to the franchise concept was exhilarating. There are few seminars that can give interested parties this level of pertinent information and a taste of true entrepreneurship.”

Winsley Durand, director of retail attraction for the Chamber said, “Our great speakers, such as Willy Theisen, really connected with the audience. Participants told me the sessions provided valuable and implementable ideas. I am confident that new businesses, as well as jobs and investment, will be a direct result of the Midwest Franchise Seminar."
