Omaha Nebraska is Right for Your Business

Our 2011 Omaha international business development marketing campaign in CNBC Business and United Hemispheres magazines is complete. The effort, highlighting “Omaha Nebraska is Right for Your Business,” spanned five-months and provided the Greater Omaha region with impressive national and international coverage. Here’s a recap:

  • January/February: two-page ad ran in CNBC Business. In addition to an online version, it was distributed to more than 4,000 attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. It was also placed in first/business class sections of 30+ international airline flights and was mailed to 1,000 global CEOs.

Local businessman Paul Hogan, founder and chairman of Omaha-based Home Instead Senior Care, was featured in the CNBC Business online article.
  • February: the ad referenced above was placed in United Hemispheres resulting in 12 million impressions worldwide.
  • March and April: the same two-page spread was again placed in these two issues of CNBC Business magazine.
  • May: The Greater Omaha Economic Development Partnership was the primary sponsor of the Invest in America supplement distributed with the May issue of CNBC Business. An advertorial, developed in partnership with the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and the I-80 Council, was also part of the supplement.

The supplement included an article (page 11) about Jim Clifton, Gallup CEO, who praised Omaha as the location for the Gallup University campus.

Invest in America was produced in partnership with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the International Economic Development Council.

This campaign resulted in approximately 15.75 million impressions about Greater Omaha. We are well on our way to meeting and exceeding our 2011 objective of 22 million media impressions!
