Greater Omaha Named Active Base Community of the Year
A Tribute to Partnerships

On behalf of Greater Omaha, the Greater Omaha Chamber was recently awarded the Active Base Community of the Year by the Association of Defense Communities. Ned Holmes, senior military liaison for the Chamber, and Linda Lovgren, president and owner of Lovgren Marketing Group and chair of the Chamber's military affairs advisory group, accepted the award on July 19, on behalf of the entire Greater Omaha community, during the ADC 2011 Annual Conference in Norfolk, Va.

The award is a tribute to the partnerships among community and industry leaders, government representatives, and local military officials that advance the missions at Offutt Air Force Base and support its personnel.

"It was an honor to participate in the conference on behalf of our community and to accept this recognition," said Lovgren. "Our public-private partnerships continue to set the standard and allow us to give back to the men and women in the military who provide our nation strength and protection around the world."
